Yeah for Field Day!!!!

This morning was unlike most mornings at our house! Gracie wasn't dragging her feet to get going because today was... FIELD DAY! She got ready in a flash, and with a positive attitude. That made it a momentous morning. I stopped counting how many times she asked me to not forget her sack lunch, water bottle, hat, and sun screen.

Here she is wearing her hat backwards. Isn't that what boys do?!!!

Grace and her good friend Dante

Grace loves being one of the boys. The girls could be off dancing and playing house, but Grace can most likely be found playing tag and ninjas with the boys.

Tug-Of-War! After a lot of pulling they were declared the winners!!!

Sweet Victory!!!

Alivia even had fun.

I love being with Grace at school. It's fun to see her in a different light. Except for she already doesn't like me to hug her in front of her friends. I didn't know that was uncool at 5. I do it anyway!

For The Love Of Sugar

What is it about this stuff? You know...SUGAR. I love it! Is it physiologically or psychologically addicting? I don't know and I don't really care. It's a love hate relationship! I love it, but I hate it because I love it. Yes, I try to eat it in moderation, but sometimes I just crack under the pressure. It must have some magnetic force. When it's around, I'm drawn to it. I really wish I loved lettuce as much as I love sugar!

What is your guilty pleasure????

Amazing

I saw this last summer and was reminded of it this week. I wish Ella could do this. Pretty incredible!

Where Does The Time Go?

Ella is 1!!!! Ella was all smiles on this day!

We were glad to see her second tooth pop up on her b-day! We have been wondering if she would ever get more teeth. Bring on the steak... I mean cake!
Gracie wore this dress on her first birthday too!

Ella is laughing. Happy Day!!!!

Porter, we like mohawks at our house too!

Ella loves to swim. Look at that face. I love her!

Celebrating Moms

Happy Day to all the mom's I love and admire. There are so many. Each of you has influenced my life for the better.
This is my favorite mom book! It's so funny, yet so real!

My favorite page in this book says the following:
...mother is one of the few titles you'll take with you when you go. The family you are helping build represents the only unit on earth that is designed to last through eternity. It's not a waste of your talent --it's the most significant possible use of it!
I cant imagine that any woman loves what she's doing every hour of every day, and when things get tough, it's easy to second-guess yourself. The fact that such a wonderful array of choices is available to women today makes it easy to think (especially in those less-rewarding moments) that maybe you chose wrong.
You didn't.
No one can properly assess the value of what you do because they're not there to see all the little ways in which you are"paid" and how the world is blessed by your efforts.
Someday, closer to the end of your life, when your grandchildren and great-grandchildren are running around in the yard and climbing up to give you sticky kisses and writing you love notes, I'll bet it will be clearer-to everyone-who made the right choice. And in eternity, when you're sitting surrounded by your posterity and enjoying the sweet companionship of a multitude of loved ones, those people who tried to tell you otherwise in this life will understand what you knew all along: Being the Mom is the best! (p148-149)

Being the Mom seems to be mostly about: trying again, and again, and again! Thank you to this mom who never stopped trying. I love you mom!

  • I love this mom because she loves to have fun. Her laugh is contagious!

  • I love this mom because she is always anxiously engaged and looking for someone to serve!

  • I love this mom because she is always building me up!

  • I love this mom because she loves me no matter what!

  • I love this mom because she always knows what to say!

  • I love this mom because she is a reflection of Christ.

  • I love this mom because she is a survivor!

  • I love this mom because she is strong and humble.

  • I love this mom because she is simply the most wonderful mom!
That wonderful mom helped shape another wonderful mom!

Famous for what?
Everyone's eyes on me.
What should I perform?
What will my talent be?

Crisp, immaculate house?
Balanced meal, 5 o'clock.
Neatly folded laundry.
Partner for every sock.

Applause! Applause!
But wait, I'm so much more.
Me, a shaper of souls.
Little ones, numbering four.

And if famous for only this.
Content I will be.
Four souls to my charge.
Lord's eyes on me.

Inspiring! Kristin, Happy Mom's Day. I love and appreciate you more than words.

Band Aid Fetish

What is it about band aids? I could take pictures like this a few times a week. We go through boxes and boxes of band aids every month. My kids get just as excited about a box of band aids as they would a new toy. Band aids are on every grocery list I make.

Band aids seem to be able to cure actual scrapes and invisible scrapes. I can console my crying child for ten minutes after a bad fall, but if I pull a band aid out the tears stop almost immediately. At times, I would like to try these amazing adhesives over the mouths of my whiny children. I don't think even a band aid will stop their whining.

The purchase of band aids is starting to put a dent in our budget, so I am now in search for the perfect hiding spot for all future boxes of band aids.

They really do need to put a WARNING on the band aid box about the addictive nature of this product!

There is not one scratch on any of those fingers!
